λ Scorpii

Lambda Scorpii is the tip of the scorpion's stinger; its name Shaula, appropriately means The Sting.

Lambda is a very bright 1.6 magnitude, making it the 24th brightest star in the heavens.

With the naked eye from zeta scan the stars to the east: from eta to theta, and then to the stars which curve upward to form the stinger: binoculars.
