2 and 5 Lacertae

This region has a number of interesting objects. Two open clusters are in the same field of view.

NGC 7209 is an open cluster of fifty or so stars, well seen in binoculars. It's about 410 million years old and 2900 light years away.

NGC 7243 is discussed under alpha Lacertae.

The binary Struve 2902, about one and a half degrees south of 2 Lacertae, is considered one of the constellation's finest binaries: 7.6; 8.2; 88, separation 6.4".
