Columba is a relatively new constellation, having been introduced only in the seventeenth century. It usually is seen to represent the dove that brought back the olive branch to Noah, and that's the way the asterism is shown.

There aren't many objects for binoculars here, but in the interest of completeness, we include Columba on our list.
